Your memories of Arsenal away

Mike Small scoring the winner in 1991/92. They were current champions and we were bottom, yet we went there and won 1-0, Mike Small scoring after a mazy run from Mitchell Thomas (!)

Also - Last team and Highbury, First team at Emirates.

Being mascot against them in the FA Cup 1998 1/4 final at Highbury (I was 7)! We drew 1-1... Pearce scored early on and then they got a penalty!!
Never forget taking penalties against Lama in the warm up! And getting to meet Samasi ABOUUUUUU before the game!!!
We drew the replay 1-1 again at Upton Park - Bergkamp sent off after about half hour and then we lost on penalties (Abou missed the last one) ha.

The Mike Small game was superb. Went absolutely crazy when that went in. If I remember rightly we was still going mad when they had taken the kick off. Was at the back next to the fence and there was some Italians recording all our songs and asking what they meant.
I think there were about 100 West Ham at the back of the North Bank as well cordoned off by old bill just going mental.

Remember the smoke bomb...going off just before kick off and when it cleared North Bank full of West Ham in the centre of it, priceless. Believe it was the only match Ray Houghton played for us....and that was as a bloody left back. We Lost.

i watched the win at the Emirates in a pub on essex road surrounding by weirdo gunners. one particular lady of a certain age was sporting an arsenal jumper she knitted herself got the right hump with us!! she came over brandishing a copy of the league table and pointed out to me where the two sides were in the league. she then told me that in 1920 something arsenal played france and beat them............. when i asked which side Henry played for she stared blankly at me.

Always remember walking round the back streets of Highbury and Islington and seeing pro-ira graffiti everywhere. A bit of a shock for a teenager from E16.

First time I saw violence between adults at close quarter.
Two blokes fighting, one with a broken bottle. Most people, including me, just walked past, a few watched. They weren't wearing colours, so it might not have even been about football.
Not sure where it was in relation to the ground (it was a green area, rather than the street), and I can't remember the year, but must have been early to mid-70s.

Coming out of Arsenal tube station straight into an eruption of fighting. Liked Highbury have never been to emirates. Used to like the fact you could get there easily fro. E16 by that crumby little north London link train. A good area if you want to go out post match.

My first London away game, I was about 10 about 1970, we stood in the junior gunners bit by the side of the North Bank and they were giving out the old football sticker books and cards. no idea what the score was.

1-0 defeat 85/6 season was my first game there.
Best memory standing up in the Home end seating when mike small toe punted into the top corner from about 50 yards in a truly unbelievable 0-1 win.

Have to go with the last team to win at Highbury and first to win at Emirates, along with a 3-2 win around 1977, strangely enough a 6-1 thrashing the season before, but to top it all the 2-0 FA Cup win in the mud in 75

in the clock end, north bank smoke bomb and scrapping....
to be followed by that fearful chant from the top right corner of the north bank as we looked ahead
'west ham west ham rah rah rah, arsenal arsenal ha ha ha'
where's the traditional '...fucking heads kicked in when you need it'

4th April 1970 My first ever live game of football with my brother and my dad.
36,000 at Highbury saw us lose 2-1 however it was the one and only time I saw Bobby Moore and Geoff Hurst play in a West Ham shirt
Martin Peters had left us by then though Jimmy Greaves got our only goal

That's the one, Terry. The gooners in their east stand could only laugh, no comeback to that.
